14 Mar 5-a-day Live
On Thursday 9th March, an energetic 5-a-day Live session was held at Hornchurch Sports Centre.
Teams of KS1 and KS2 pupils from 10 Havering schools attended the event which began with an active warm up. Throughout the morning the children enthusiastically took part in activities focused on throwing, balancing, stepping and running. A tremendous effort from all participants!
Assisting in the smooth running of the event were Year 8 sports leaders from the Collective leadership academy. The young leaders from Hall Mead, Gaynes, Coopers, Marshalls Park and Emerson Park played a pivotal role in supporting and encouraging the children during the session.
Special recognition certificates for participants who showed real determination were awarded to KS1 pupils Nadia from Hylands and Freddie from Branfil and to KS2 pupils Aimee Louise from Branfil and Charlie from Ardleigh Green.
Congratulations to Langtons Infants who were overall winners of the KS1 competition and to Ardleigh Green for winning KS2.
Thank you to the 5-a-day Live team for running a fantastic event, to the staff and parents for your support and a big well done to all of the children who took part for your effort and enthusiasm.
