Girls Football League A

05 Oct Girls Football League A

On Tuesday 4th October, the first girl’s league tournament (Group A) was played at Wykeham Primary School. The schools who attended were; Upminster Junior School, St. Joseph’s, Oakfield’s, Wykeham Primary, Engayne and Branfil.

All schools showed great passion and team work throughout the tournament using great football skills in every match. The players and staff enjoyed the day and showed great enthusiasm. All schools in this tournament have been awarded the respect spirit of the games award for their fantastic sportsmanship on this eventful day on and off the pitch.

I’d like to congratulate St. Joseph’s girls for winning the tournament and becoming 1st in League A. Branfil scraped a 2nd place victory over Upminster Junior School beating them on goal difference. These two teams will be going through to the quarter finals of the girl’s football league.

Well done to all teams in Group A league for their participation, determination and giving us all great games of football to be involved in. It’s safe to say this tournament was a success.
