Havering School Games Boys/Mixed 6 a side Football Competition

16 Oct Havering School Games Boys/Mixed 6 a side Football Competition

On 14th October 2015 a School Games boys/mixed 6 a side football tournament was held for years 5 and 6.  A total of 24 schools entered in to the competition which was hosted at Play Football in Romford.

Teams played within allocated groups, with the winners progressing to the quarter final stage of the competition.  The quarter finalists were: Rise Park, Crowlands, Engayne, Harold Wood, Upminster Junior, Parsonage Farm, Wykeham and St Patrick’s.

The winners of the quarter finals who then progressed to the semi finals were Rise Park, St Patrick’s, Engayne and Upminster Junior.  The semi finals were exciting with not much to separate the teams, however, the finalists were revealed as St Patrick’s and Upminster Junior.

Both St Patrick’s and Upminster Junior showed great team work and individual flair throughout the final, but in the end Upminster came away with the win.

During the competition, as part of the spirit of the games awards, Omar and Lizzy were watching closely to identify which schools demonstrated the best team work and respect. The awards for respect went to St. Peter’s, Parklands and Brady.  Harold Wood, Dame tipping and St. Edwards won the awards for team work.  Congratulations to all of these schools.
