Parklands School Games Crew Training

17 Sep Parklands School Games Crew Training

On the 5th of June  2015, Havering Sports Collective Apprentices Omar and Lizzy delivered School Games Crew training to the year fives at Parklands Junior School.

The purpose of the School Games Crew is to organise intra-house competitions within their school, thus increasing sports participation throughout all year groups.

The aim of the training was to teach students how to organise and collate information and transfer it on to a spreadsheet.  Omar and Lizzy informed the students about what a School games Crew is, why we need them and what they do, including the benefits and specific job roles.

The students took part in various activities, scoring themselves on each of the stations.  When they had completed all of the events, their scores were input to multiple spreadsheets.  The purpose of this exercise was to initiate a discussion with the children about the values they had used throughout the stations.

In the next session the children will input the results on to their own spreadsheets.
