Primary Cross Country

08 Nov Primary Cross Country

On 8th November 2018, 750 children aged 7 to 11 arrived at Stubbers Outdoor Centre in a total of 590 cars for the annual cross country event. It was a beautiful sunny autumn morning with children, parents and teachers in good spirits. As always the Stubbers staff were exceptionally organised and with the help of 12 Coopers Company and Coborn students the races began.

The year 3 and 4 girls and boys ran a lap of Russell’s Lake approximately 1300m and the year 5 and 6 boys and girls ran a lap of the site approximately 2,000m. The races were hotly contested with the first 4 runners in every team gaining points for their schools. The top 3 runners in each race were awarded medals.

Full and individual results can be found here.

We would like to thank the Stubbers Staff for their great organisation and passion for our event. With over 750 runners it was no mean feat to get the races started on time and ensure the safety of the children. There wasn’t a single incident or accident and no tears which at our biggest event so far this year was a great achievement. There were however plenty of smiles and pleasure from children finishing their races.

Our medal winners are shown in the picture below alongside our student helpers.
