09 Nov Primary Cross Country Competition
A glorious winter morning greeted the teams and supporters to the Havering Sports Collective primary cross country competition held on Tuesday 8th November. Stubbers Adventure Centre in Upminster was the perfect setting for the event, with the race course taking the competitors around the picturesque lake.
Despite the chill in the air, enthusiasm and energy was rife amongst the teams and some wonderful warm ups were witnessed prior to the races.
Runners from years 3/4 and 5/6 took part in the competition which was entered by 29 schools. A separate boys and girls race was held for each category.
Staff from Stubbers did an excellent job of organising and marshalling the competition to ensure the event was a success. All of the runners displayed great determination to complete the course and fantastic support and encouragement could be heard from the crowds in attendance, cheering all competitors across the finish line.
Sharon Phillips from Havering Sports Collective showed her appreciation to all those involved saying: “We are very grateful to the team at Stubbers and to all of the staff and parents who attended for their support in making this such a fabulous event”.
Congratulations to Paige, Jack, Stephanie and Ryan who won their races and to the runners up, Maggie, Kaisi, Riley and Harrison.
