Primary Cross Country

On the blustery morning of Tuesday 7th November 2017, the Havering Sports Collective primary cross country competition was held at Stubbers Adventure Centre.

The competition was entered by 27 schools, with separate boys and girls teams entered for years 3/4 and 5/6.

Year 3/4 runners ran a scenic route around the lake for their 1200m race.  Year 5/6 children ran a further distance of 2000m.

Congratulations to Leila Jones, Findlay McLaren, Chloe Keegan and Jack West for winning their races.  To Amy Mansell, Thomas Allder, Lucy Bacon and Jonmark Nwosa for coming 2nd and to Grace Tilson, Joe Hibell, Charlotte Evans and Emilis Virsilas for taking 3rd place.

Year 3/4 Girls: Upminster Junior, Hacton
Year 3/4 Boys: Ardleigh Green Junior, Hacton
Year 5/6 Girls: Upminster Junior, St. Joseph’s
Year 5/6 Boys: Gidea Park Primary, St. Joseph’s

As always the staff at Stubbers did a fantastic job of hosting and marshalling the event to ensure its success, with the support of young leaders from Coopers.

Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to those who came along to offer support to the runners.
