01 Nov Tag Rugby Competition

The Tag Rugby School Games Competition and Festival took place on Wednesday 1st November, a crisp and clear day at May & Baker RFC.

Over 500 year 5 and 6 children from across 31 schools competed in the event, with equal numbers of spectators.  Record numbers in attendance this year!

The event was supported by volunteers from Barking & Dagenham College’s Rugby Academy who kindly refereed the games.

The School Games Competition winners were Mead, with James Oglethorpe taking the runner up position.

Winners of the Festival were Towers Junior, with Upminster Junior as the runners up.

School Games Values were awarded as follows:

Teamwork went to Scotts, St. Edward’s, Langtons, Towers Junior, Engayne and Upminster Junior.

Respect was awarded to Harrow Lodge Primary, St Joseph’s, St. Peter’s, St. Mary’s, Dame Tipping and Hacton.
